Ms. Kelly, Assistant Director

Kelly

Hello Parents!  My name is Ms. Kelly and I am the Assistant Director at DCLP.  I come from a long line of teachers and I have been working with children for many years.  I moved to Chicago six years ago from Morganton, North Carolina.  During my time in Chicago I have had the opportunity to volunteer at Lincoln Park Community Shelter as well as the tutoring center 826 Chicago.  Growing up my family moved a lot so I have had the opportunity to live in Japan and travel throughout Europe and China.  During my free time I play tennis, rock climb and hang out with my dog and friends.

I have been the head teacher in a two year old classroom, a four year old classroom as well as the assistant director.  My college background is in Early Childhood Development.  My favorite part about working with young children is seeing the look on their face the first time they try something new!  I encourage children to learn through exploring and asking questions. I also encourage parents to come to me with any questions or concerns they may have.

Downtown Children's Learning Place & Children's Learning Place are licensed child care facilities offering children ages 6 weeks to 6 years old, a well rounded educational experience. We begin with age-appropriate environments that encourage children to learn, play and explore.

We focus on the growth of the mind, spirit and body via music, art, show and tell, circle time, science projects, math, reading, field trips, exercise, dance, tumbling and gymastics, swimming, pageants, holiday parties, and annual events. Raising your child can be difficult, finding the best care for your child doesn't have to be.
